In the Winstead Park neighborhood of Boise, ID, a full roof replacement was completed to bring this home up to modern standards for performance and protection. Two existing layers of roofing were removed down to the decking, followed by the installation of new 7/16” OSB sheathing across the entire roof surface.
The roof system was rebuilt with Owens Corning Duration shingles in Sierra Gray, paired with matching ProEdge hip and ridge shingles. To enhance waterproofing, the entire deck was covered with Owens Corning PSU 30 Ice & Water Barrier, and Karnak was used in the valleys for added protection. Exposed nails were sealed with Vulkem, and ventilation was improved by installing Capital RVO 50 metal box vents, including one additional vent for the garage.
Flashing was upgraded with Famco 2″ “D” style metal, step flashing, and IPS pipe flashings, all in a galvanized finish to match the system. A satellite dish and antenna were removed, and daily cleanups ensured the property remained tidy throughout the project. The roof is now backed by an Owens Corning Standard Protection Warranty with 10-year material and 5-year workmanship coverage, ensuring long-term peace of mind.
