Building Roofs, Building Hope: Our Role in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway
Every year, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway unites communities across the nation to support a cause that touches countless lives. We at Idaho Roofing Contractors are honored to contribute our roofing services and materials to this incredible initiative, partnering with Berkeley Building Co., the dedicated builders behind the Dream Home.
Signing for a Cause: The 2×4 Lumber Signing Event
Recently, we participated in the annual 2×4 Lumber Signing Event, a heartfelt tradition where community members are invited to leave messages of hope and encouragement on the very lumber that will frame the St. Jude Dream Home. These signed 2x4s become a lasting symbol of the community’s collective support for the children and families of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Our Contribution: Roofing with Purpose
Since 2019, Idaho Roofing Contractors has proudly provided our roofing services and materials for the St. Jude Dream Home. By donating our expertise and resources, we aim to ensure that the home is built at zero cost, maximizing the funds raised through ticket sales. This means that every dollar goes directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, supporting their mission to provide life-saving care without financial burden to families.
The Impact of Collective Effort
While Berkeley Building Co. leads the construction of the Dream Home, it is the collaborative effort of numerous trade partners like us that makes this endeavor truly special. Over the years, the combined contributions have led to remarkable achievements:
- 2019: The first zero-cost home was built, allowing more funds to be directed to St. Jude.
- 2020: Berkeley Building Co. was named the St. Jude Dream Home Builder of the Year, with $1.3 million raised in ticket sales.
- 2021: The community raised $1.8 million in just 85 minutes, earning another Zero Hero award.
- 2022: An astounding $2.3 million was raised, breaking records and earning accolades like Campaign of the Year, Best Kitchen, Zero Hero, and recognition as a 10-Year Builder.
We are humbled to have played a part in these milestones by ensuring the Dream Home has a roof that symbolizes shelter and security—a fundamental aspect of any home.

Giving BackNeighbors in Need: Roof Repair Edition – Helping Debra Smith
At Idaho Roofing Contractors, we believe that community goes beyond the homes we roof—it’s about the people who live under them. This spring, our “Neighbors in Need: Roof Repair Edition” took us to the home of Debra Smith, an elderly woman who had been facing difficult times and was unable to afford the much-needed repairs for her aging roof.
Debra, a long-time resident of Boise, had been struggling with leaks and deteriorating shingles that threatened to damage her home further. With rising costs and limited income, she found herself in a tough situation, unsure how to afford the repairs.
When we heard her story, we knew we had to step in. As part of our commitment to the community, we launched this special project to give back to deserving neighbors like Debra, offering free roof repairs to those in need.
Our team got to work quickly, replacing the improperly installed roof, and ensuring her home was properly protected. The joy on Debra’s face, as she saw her repaired roof, was a reminder of why we do what we do. It wasn’t just about fixing a roof—it was about giving Debra peace of mind and safety in her home once again.
At Idaho Roofing Contractors, we are more than just a roofing company. We are proud members of this community, and we believe in taking care of our neighbors. Through projects like “Neighbors in Need,” we hope to make a lasting difference, one roof at a time.

New Roof Solutions For Our Service Men and Women
Installing new roofs for the families of our soldiers is our way of showing our gratitude and appreciation for their tremendous and selfless service toward our country.
When military personnel are away from home, family life can be stressful for those left behind and home repairs are often overwhelming. That’s why Idaho Roofing Contractors and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractors are working to offer new roof solutions to the families of service men and women.
First Annual “Re-Roof Idaho”
In March of 2020, Idaho Roofing Contractors launched their first annual “Re-Roof Idaho” campaign. This campaign focused on giving back to a Veteran family within the Treasure Valley community. This year’s winners of our “Re-Roof Idaho” campaign were Mr. and Mrs. McAnany. Both Mr. and Mrs. McAnany are retired Air Force Veterans that celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. On her free time, Mrs. McAnany enjoys crocheting warm hats to give to the homeless, school children, and fellow Vets in need. Mr. McAnany is an-ex firefighter and continues to help others by providing rides to neighbors. Idaho Roofing Contractors would like to thank you for your services. It was an absolute honor to provide a new roof to such a deserving couple.
Assistance for Deserving Military Families
The Roof Deployment Project is building a brighter future for military families. It’s an initiative by Owens Corning and Platinum Preferred Contractors to identify, honor, and help deserving military families with new roof solutions.

Volunteering is like going to the gym, it is something that we know is good for us, but is hard to build up to the habit of doing it on a regular basis. Today we’re going to explore the features and benefits of volunteering and how it has a positive impact both on yourself personally as well as on the community as a whole.
Volunteering, community service, and other types of engagement are excellent ways to foster positive change all around you. Finding time to give back can be difficult at first, but once you learn how, you can quickly make it a part of your weekly or monthly routine.
Starting And Getting Inspired
There are many ways in which you can volunteer and otherwise give back. Whether it’s helping out at a local shelter, participating in a neighborhood clean-up, or mentoring a child or student, every act of kindness can make a difference. Getting Started On Your Volunteering Path
Connect With Your Passion: What matters to you or is important to you? Do you want to fight hunger, or maybe illiteracy, or do you want to see cleaner streets and roadways? Find something that inspires you and go after it!
Start Researching: Check out local groups who are already doing what you want to be doing or are doing something similar. Connect with them and see if they are a good fit! Websites like VolunteerMatch, Idealist, and local community centers are good starting places.
Start Volunteering: Dedicate some time each month and see how that impacts your schedule. If you can fit more volunteer time in, then great! As long as you’re doing it consistently, that is what matters.
Spread The Word: Now that you’ve successfully started volunteering on a regular basis, spread the word and share your experience with others so you may inspire others to take charge and start bettering their own communities. Post about your experiences on social media and to friends and family. You’ll be glad you did!
